IKEA and Women's Leadership Exchange® Bring the Nation's Best Business-Building Conference to Twin Cities

Geek Squad Founder to Address Business Women

Bloomington, Minn (April 17, 2009) -- The Women's Leadership Exchange® (WLE) nationally-acclaimed conference series has been helping women entrepreneurs and executives nationwide grow their businesses and advance their careers. For the first time ever, WLE, in partnership with IKEA, is bringing one of the nation's best business-building conferences to Twin Cities due to popular demand.  The event will be held on May 5, 2009 from 8 am to 1:30 pm at IKEA Twin Cities, 8000 IKEA Way, Bloomington, Minn.

The goal of the conference is to help women who face challenges with their businesses, are starting a business, or are in-transition to reinvent, reconnect and refocus to be successful in today's tough economy. "We live in an economy where the no-hows of yesterday have been replaced by the new-hows of today's business world. This unique conference will give participants the tools they need to move their businesses and careers forward by generating new ideas, making new connection and exploring new opportunities," said WLE Cofounder Leslie Grossman.
Participants will hear and learn from the best in business. One of the two featured keynote speakers is marketing guru and best-selling author Robin Koval. President of a billion-dollar NYC ad agency, Kaplan Thaler Group, she is the mastermind behind the world-famous Aflac Duck. The second keynote speaker, Minnesota's own Robert Stephens, is the founder of Geek Squad -- North America's largest technology support company offering phone, in-store, and in-home support.

The program also includes the following growth gurus and workshops:

  • Marketing You and Your Business With Social Networking with Jennifer Bombach, principal of Gumption LLC (presented by Best Buy)
  • What You Need to Know to Launch Your Business or Consulting Service with Pam Nelson, author of The Recharged Woman: Success Strategies for Energizing Your Life
  • Effective Sales Communication in a Down Economy withDiane Amundson, author of Success Strategies: A High Achiever’s Guide to Success
  • How Women's Leadership Style Will Transform Today's Business Environment with Martha Mertz, founder of ATHENA International and author of Becoming ATHENA: Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership

In addition, WLE is introducing an innovative approach to generating new ideas and discussing business issues with the so-called SolutionStations -- interactive information stations where attendees will get real-time solutions to their most pressing business challenges.

The cost of the conference is only $49, which includes breakfast, light lunch, networking, keynotes, workshops and SolutionStations. Register at or call 888.937.5800.

The conference is made possible through the support of IKEA, Best Buy, American Express OPEN, Morgan Stanley, American Airlines and Turning Stone Resort and Lodge.
