Women's Leadership Exchange® Brings Nation’s Best

Business-Building Conference to Orlando

SwitchFlops Creator to Receive First WLE Biz Wiz Award

Orlando, Fla. (August 17, 2009) -- The Women's Leadership Exchange® (WLE) nationally-acclaimed conference program has been helping women entrepreneurs and executives nationwide grow their businesses and advance their careers for seven years. WLE, in partnership with IKEA, is bringing one of the nation's best business-building conferences to Orlando. The event will be held on September 22, 2009 from 8 am to 4 pm at IKEA Orlando, 4092 Eastgate Drive, Orlando, Fla.

At the event, WLE will be presenting its newly created WLE Biz Wiz Award honoring creative excellence in women entrepreneurs under 30. WLE has selected Lindsay Phillips, creator of the successful Florida-based brand SwitchFlops, to be the first recipient of the award. Lindsay’s unique invention has been named the hottest new fashion product of 2009 according to Vogue and InStyle!

The program includes a panel of successful business women who will be sharing insights on how women can take advantage of the eco-stimulus government contracts. Attendees will also learn from the following growth gurus and workshops:

  • Master Sales Success: Think and Act Like a Mover & Shaker with Zelda Greenberg, the Bounce Back Guru
  • On Your Own: Strategies for Starting a Business/Consulting with Donn Miller-Kermani, director of Women’s Business Center (WBC) at Florida Tech
  • Surviving the Wilderness, Weathering the Storm with Jewel Daniels, author of The Enterprising Entrepreneur, 10 Powerful Life Lessons for Achieving Business Success
  • Harnessing the Power of the Web and Social Networks for Business Success withShawna Vercher, social networking/web expert who helped the Obama campaign

In addition, WLE is introducing an innovative approach to generating new ideas and discussing business issues with its SolutionStations -- interactive information stations where attendees will get real-time solutions to their most pressing business challenges.

Participants will also have the opportunity to receive personalized SpeedCoaching sessions where each attendee is provided with five-minute “nuggets” of advice on their business issues by one of the WLE growth gurus.

The goal of the conference is to help women who face challenges with their businesses, are starting a business, or are in-transition to reinvent, reconnect and refocus to be successful in today's tough economy. "We live in an economy where the no-hows of yesterday have been replaced by the new-hows of today's business world. This unique conference will give participants the tools they need to move their businesses and careers forward by generating new ideas, making new connections and exploring new opportunities," said WLE Cofounder Leslie Grossman.

The cost of the event is only $69, which includes breakfast, lunch, networking, keynotes, workshops, SolutionStations and SpeedCoaching. Register at or call 888.937.5800.

The conference is made possible through the support of corporate partners IKEA, American Express OPEN, American Airlines and SBTV as a media partner.
